Hi, I was wondering why loads of people just quit this forum, is there a thread you can make that you have to post in if they’re quitting the forum, also let’s talk about bot accounts, is there any way to solve that apart from deleting them all, I have a lot of free time, I could be a temporary moderator and delete all the bot accounts, so what do you think R.O.B.?

Hi, I was wondering why loads of people just quit this forum I suppose it would just be natural. A lot of people join a forum, post once or twice, and then, due to lack of interest, stop logging in or visiting the forum at all. This happens with all forums, not just WinClassic. Perhaps they're just interested in one resource that's available on the forum and not the broader topic which the forum discusses. is there a thread you can make that you have to post in if they’re quitting the forum I believe that, due to the aforementioned reason, such a thread would be underutilised. It is likely that a new visitor would be unaware of such a thread, nor care to use it if they truly have no intention of using the forum any further. I suppose it could make sense if you were, instead, asking to delete your account, but a user can already do that to their own account here.

I don't really think such a thing would be utilized enough to warrant it, so I don't really see the benefit. also let’s talk about bot accounts, is there any way to solve that apart from deleting them all, I have a lot of free time, I could be a temporary moderator and delete all the bot accounts, so what do you think R.O.B.? We unfortunately don't have any way to distinguish bot accounts from real users. If they make spam threads/posts, they will of course be dealt with then.

Let me show you the first few members on the list They are all bots, so anyone with no posts and has not been online for a year can be deleted, some people haven't been online for 1 minute

I would never assume all of those inactive accounts are bots. Maybe a lot of them are, but certainly not all of them. Keep in mind that people may register an account to simply download attachments or to access other resources on the forum that require it, as ProBoards doesn't really give us much control over guest access to these resources (as much as I wish they did). I don't see any reason to delete accounts simply due to inactivity. The way I see it, as long as the users in question aren't causing any trouble, there isn't really any issue here.
