Windows 7 came with themes representing major countries. However, obviously they couldn't include every single country, so they chose only the list shown in these archives archive.org/details/Win7MCTThemes and archive.org/details/windows-7-downloadable-regional-themes
I thought it would be fun for those who live in countries that were not included, to make themes representing their countries in the same style that the original Windows 7 themes did! You can still do a theme for a country that was already used if you aren't happy with the theme that was used for your country!
The archive should give you an idea of what the themes should look like, but here are rules to make it clearer:
1. There needs to be a slideshow of six 1920 x 1200 jpg photos of landmarks or sites representing your country, but not obviously famous ones (for example, the France theme never showed the Eiffel tower, the India theme never showed the Taj Mahal etc)
2. The wallpapers need to be sequenced with numbers in the name (for example, the American wallpapers would be named US-wp1.jpg; US-wp2.jpg etc)
3. A colour scheme and intensity must be chosen (for Windows 7 and glass8, DWMBlurGlass and OpenGlass users). You can either use one of the ones used in the list of already-used countries or you can choose your own. The colour may not be automatic, as this wasn't yet an option in Windows 7.
4. Either use the default Windows sound scheme or use one of the Windows 7 sound schemes; you can't use your own custom scheme. None of the other MCT themes used custom ones.
5. No custom visual styles; these themes should work on all stock vanilla versions of Windows 7 up to 11.
6. Share the themes as .themepack files, which was the theme format used for sharing Windows 7 themes.
There's the challenge! Idk how the themes should be submitted, submit them however you like. Let me know if this is a good contest idea!
