Has anyone figured out how to change the folder icon in Windows 10? I've had serious problems trying to change the regular folder. Been able to use Resource Hacker and RegEdit to change the Zip folder and a couple of other individual folders, but I can't seem to change the regular folder style in Windows 10. Any help is appreciated.

This is far from standard...as in your own post you say it doesn't even work for Windows 10. Spitfire_x86: Thanks very much for this link, I will try this program.

This is for disabling folder thumbnails, can you read properly?

You cannot disable it on something below Win8

On Win10 it does nothing.

Win10 has no such icons as on your screenshot.

Oh my bad, possibly on Win10 one can disable folder thumbnails.
Regarding icons, the both reg files may work on Win 10 but the resulting icons would not be as on your screenshot (the screenshot shows folder icons from Plus! for Win95)

Yeah, it's cool, it must've been me that added it. I've read pretty much every thread on this forum, done every little tweak, run all the reg files, I honestly can't remember what I did and what I didn'd, lol.

Finally managed to figure it out using a combination of Resource Hacker and CustomizerGod. For some reason it took multiple Login and Logouts to apply all of the changes to all parts of explorer and the desktop. Not sure why. But I will post pictures of my setup in the other forum.
