At least on Windows 7 the classic explorer toolbar works just fine.

the QTToolbar was crashing the explorer When you typing a things. Don't use it, the thing is too buggy. OT: The screenshots up above are embarrassing, no idea why I even considered them remotely passable. Anyway, for comparison sake, here's what my Explorer setup looks like now: Save for having to disable the zone information in the status bar, I think it's a massive improvement. Couldn't of achieved this without Anixx and R.O.B. 's help, so major props to the both of them.

wait I was wrong for thinking about that. If you disable QTToolBar. then Classic Explorer Will hide.

Buttons at the top are Classic Explorer (which is a part of Classic Shell/Open Shell). To get the border around toolbars, read this thread: www.winclassic.net/thread/244/classic-toolbar-borders-explorer <=== This thread includes a couple of AHK script by ROB as well the toolbar icons I've used. To remove the default address bar, grab Anixx's AHK script from here: www.winclassic.net/thread/132/removing-navigation-bar-windows-explorer For the new address bar, you'll need Quero Toolbar: www.quero.at/+ My last post on this thread if you want the same skin for Quero that I'm using: www.winclassic.net/thread/455/bring-back-on-windows-x64It should work on W7, yeah, no probs.

A quick mock-up of what I'd love it to look like.

No, that's something I made in GIMP. It's beyond my abilities to actually make that a reality, I'm afraid. It's just a quick edit of a screenshot, nothing more.

I mean, the throbber COULD be created if somebody made a Toolbar for it. Or, somehow make Open-Shell don't override Classic Shell so we get TWO Classic Explorer Toolbars?
