While I'm Waiting to make Windows 10 desktop more "classic", I'm using this ... i.ibb.co/PcZTN05/desk01-laptop.jpgi.ibb.co/Qf4vYm1/desk02-laptop.jpg... on a 1280 x 800 2008-laptop, used mainly for test. Softwares used : Open-Shell for Start Menu (theme XP Classic Retro) and Taskbar with custom texture and start key - I chose no-3D texture and key to match with Windows 10 "philosophy" and Classic Explorer Bar; OldNewExplorer with DLL's modified to remove charm bar; QTTabBar to get light-beige color in windows and menu bar; Winaero Tweaker to get grey color on inactive window; Customizergod to replace sound icon; Drive Icon Changer and some hand-made or old icons.

Any chance you could share those DLLs please? I've been looking for a way to remove the Command Bar forever, and everything I've tried hasn't worked. Thanks!

Command bar, sorry. I removed the bar that you can see circled in the screenshot i.ibb.co/WKpMjYD/bars1.jpgI was inspired by these instructions to modify DLLs. www.askvg.com/how-to-make-folder-band-auto-hidden-in-windows-vista/I've tested only 64-Bit version. The DLL doesn't work selecting "Default Style" in ONE's appearance menu. It only works with "Silver cream" or "Flat white". The 64-Bit DLL also lock the detail bar's icon size at 48px, as shown in screenshot.

Thanks Axe, but it doesn't seem to work on my setup - I'm betting something's overriding it thus why all my other attempts to get rid of the command bar have failed. Oh well, I give up at this point. Thanks again tho.

I'm going to give this a try on my Windows 10 setup. Does one simply replace "shellstyle.dll" in that folder with your OldNewExplorer64.dll?

You should replace the DLLs in OldNewExplorer's folder, and, subsequently, run "OldNewExplorerCfg.exe" and select "install".
I don't know exactly how OldNewExplorer works. Examining the DLLs by Resource Hacker, I found great similarities with Windows 7's Shell32.dll and tried to modify them and ... it worked !
