I'm assuming you mean to get it to the size that it was in Windows 95 - Vista? If so, then it can be done (sort of) like in Windows 7: right click on the taskbar, then select 'Taskbar settings'. Then, in the settings window, flip the option 'Use small taskbar buttons'.

Hello! I meant taskbar height in W10 as high as start button in true windows classic theme. Assuming this type of taskbar is what you want to get, then what I posted above is the way to achieve that. It makes it 30px tall, like it was in Windows before 7. If not, then it seems I'm misunderstanding you.

On WinXP there was a bug that languagebar was making the taskbar thicker, so I always used internat.exe from Win2000 on XP.

I'd swear their taskbars were 30 px tall (after messing around with visual styles, I found that the taskbar image was 30 px tall). I didn't experience the 'bug' of the language bar making my taskbar taller, though. Also, AFAIK, Windows 7's 'small icons' taskbar is also 30 px tall. Though again, I'm doubting it now, heh. If it's not 30 px, then I'll stand corrected.

Also, as I said, in XP the langbar makes the taskbar thicker even when the visual style is not used (of course, if you only use one language, you do not need langbar). I think, without a visual style it is the same size as in Win8.1, that is, 28px.

I actually didn't realize that the use of visual styles (or rather not using them) makes a difference on the taskbar height. Alright, so a 'true' classic-sized taskbar is not really achievable under Windows 10 anymore then? Or one should disregard the 2px difference, I guess.

I do not know what's the taskbar's height in Win10 when Classic theme is on. It still does not look Classic, but regarding height I am not sure.
