I found a way to use classic icon selection indicator while keeping (immersive) context menus and taskbar functional.
Steps: 1. Use this way to get the classic theme, keep the security window opened 2. Restart explorer.exe 3. Restore Query State back to allow 4. Open taskbar settings and toggle the small taskbar option twice
5. Restore Query State back to deny
Drawbacks: 'Show hidden icons' won't work; other than that will work properly.
All windows running under explorer.exe (e.g. file explorer, run dialog) will have visual styles enabled. For a file explorer window, you can use the 'separate...' option in folder options. (but context menus won't display correctly)
(It seems that system32/shellstyle.dll was restored on 1903, is it normal?) There is a better way : install startisback and the classic taskbar then simpleclassictheme here www.winclassic.net/thread/456/reversibly-enable-disable-classic-simplethen you need to go to utilities and installexplorercontextmenutweaker How does it work? if you open my computer you will still get a skinny contextmenu luckily i found a bug : create a folder on the desktop then have a file (any file) inside then rightclick on that file and the context menus will work until next restart repeat the same procedure and you will get context menus

You don't need to install startisback manually, just Open-Shell

Can you send me the link of that skin? Might be able to do something about it. Found it, but what is exactly wrong with it? EDIT: added your image as comparison

It fixes icon selection. (see attachment below)
It also makes the taskbar normal, but it is not classic at all, so every other thing that needs classic theme to work (ex. OpenShell 3D Menu) won't work.

Okay, getting oftopic here. But there is no way to do it with SCT and ExplorerContextMenuTweaker. Does anybody know how you can replace the step where you have to enable and disable small icons with syscalls? Might be able to do something wink wink
