Hi guys, first post here, glad to see I am not the only dinosaur left SOL... thanks for the all hard work.
Classic theme is been with me since Win 95, then 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, 7... etc, you get the gist, and now its gone?... its hard to believe the guy running Microsoft decided to take such a giant steaming crap on something that has worked for productivity for the past quarter century.
I have Win10 at work and I have issues with it (I am old now) like seeing edges of the windows, whats above, or below, etc... most of the stuff from the control panel that has worked for 1/4 of a century is now gone, its in this new settings menu stuff... etc etc... I know, no need to beat the dead horse, I know.. anyhow...
As you can imagine I am still on Win7 on all my home machines, and I doubt I'll ever migrate my current workstation (an i7-3930k, 32GB RAM, running a 4.1 GHz overclock with Water cooled block) to Win 10, ever... the good news is that my current machine will probably be viable for the next 5 years or so... but the newest CPUs are starting to reach the 3x to 4x faster multithread performance over my old and trusty i7-3930k... which means, within the next couple of years I could be upgrading for improved 3D rendering speeds... and that means I'll have to suck it up and put Win10 on it to take advantage of some of the newest technologies... we'll see.
It seems that a lot of progress has been made over the last few years on WinClassic... from the original DVM hack to the more advanced System Tray toggle, etc... I am hopeful that someone a lot smarter than me will eventually figure out the way to bring WinClassic back... or maybe someone at Microsoft realizes that a lot of people actually use the classic theme b/c they want to get work done with their computer instead of just browsing all day long...
Thanks for reading my rant... long live the Classic Theme!
