Not too customizable this linux seemsa like stuff people want always get left out I have regurgitated multiple times, among all things I have repeated several times already, that this is only *one* (1) of the desktop environments available under *NIX. Yes that is correct and I posted a thread with a bunch of them here www.winclassic.net/thread/446/win9x-nt-themes-linux-unix im afraid none of them can even come close to a themeless win7 taskbar with 9x startmenu and classic explorer together i have yet to see one that is doing that . And your best solution is - WANT IT DO IT YOURSELF? when you know that are this things are lightyears from the configurable modes that classicshell and startisback have now. And linux was supposed to be better ... lol

And linux was supposed to be better ... lol This is like talking to a wall. Addendum: I have regurgitated several times that one cannot make a Linux distribution look like a carbon copy of Window 95. At it with the selective reading again, I see? Also, never once did I claim Linux was better. You pulled that out of your sleeve. If all you can resort to are baseless accusations and statements pulled from thin air, I have nothing left to add to this pointless already-gone-TGN discussion. Id ad insanitum absurdumque it.

Being available does not mean easy to do they had to go around the 'improvements' and try to make a classic startmenu instead they got a mishmash of win95 and win7 menu because the window manager does not have support for classic start menu your free to change it to a point this is a common problem with linux when they 'improve' things they end up breaking stuff in early versions of redhat you had the classic startmenu , impossible to switch back now. I realize that this is too little, too late, but since nobody ever actually HELPED this person, I'll give it a shot. A lot of this depends on your exact Linux distro. I recently installed Chicago95 on MX-23. Getting the taskbar and start menu to look right required only the following steps: 1) Deleting "Whisker Menu" and "Docklike Taskbar" from the taskbar 2) Adding "Applications Menu" and "Window Buttons" to the taskbar, and moving them to the right spots 3) Editing the properties of the Applications Menu so that it said "Start" instead of "Applications"
