Classic style explorer in Windows XP was also very good... So I decided to bring it back to Windows 10. Step 1: Installing Open-Shell, AutoHotKey and Quero Toolbar AutoHotKey (for scripts, I describe it later): Download Quero Toolbar (for alternative address bar): Download Step 2: Removing navigation bar and applying ClientEgde and Toolbar border To make explorer more classic, you should use these AHK scripts.
Thanks to them for their nice stuffs!
Step 3: Setting the toolbar
First, place "WinXP" folder to %SystemDrive%\Classic\Icons\Toolbar. If you placed it to other place, you'll need to set the icons again.
Second, open Open-Shell's "Classic Explorer Settings" and click "Backup". Then click "Load from XML file..." to choose a XML file. XML files are in "Open-Shell XML" folder.
English version (XP_EN.xml) Japanese version (XP_JP.xml) NOTE: I haven't assigned the function to "Search" button because Windows 10 doesn't have a Search Companion.
Step 4: Choose a theme for Quero Toolbar Click Quero logo button and "Options". Then go to "Appearance" and click "Browse..." to choose a DLL file. DLL files are in "Quero Theme" folder.
English version
with access key (Quero_XP_EN.dll) without access key (Quero_XP_EN_NoAK.dll) Japanese version
with access key (Quero_XP_JP.dll) without access key (Quero_XP_JP_NoAK.dll)

With all these AHK scripts, is there a possibility to make the system tray button expand when the button is clicked? I know there wouldn't be any sliding animation, but would be pretty cool.

Regarding Quero toolbar, I never was able to make it appear in File Explorer. Reinstall it? Enable IE Add-ons on Internet Options? Enable Quero Toolbar on the IE Add-ons manager?

I was wondering if there would be any way to edit Quero so that the address bar doesn't show CLSID's. Is it open source?

Is it me or is the address text MS Sans Serif, not Tahoma?

I've been using this for a while on Windows 7. It works really well and looks amazing, but there are a few little things that are different about it, compared to actual XP.
Referring to the attached screenshot, the top part is 7 with these tweaks applied (looks the same on 8.1); the bottom part is taken from XP with the classic theme on.
The Quero Toolbar is 30 pixels tall, whereas in XP the address bar was only 22 pixels (measuring the grey parts only).
There's also extra padding around "Address" and the Go button lacks the word "Go", and of course the XP flag is missing but I doubt that's something we can do anything about. Just wondering if these were things that are fixable or not.

1. You cannot change the size of Quero Toolbar. 2. The extra padding around "Address" and the Go button lacks the word "Go" because again, it is another Quero toolbar issue. 3. That is possible via Open/Classic Shell, however there are no multiple toolbars solutions for Open/Classic shell.

And 2 additional little things: The "Address" text uses Microsoft Sans Serif, while in XP it uses Tahoma. The address bar uses My Computer icon, regardless of which item is open. I was also thinking the same about Go button word. For the XP flag: I think I saw a discussion about it in the Classic Shell forum. I will show the link here once I find it again.

I also made my own version before i even noticed this thread existed, which has Tahoma as font on the "Address" text and has a folder icon every folder (another Quero limitation, you can only make it 1 icon, not other icons for other folders)

Hi! Im having a bit of a trouble, im on Windows 7 Ultimate, using the combined script (www.winclassic.net/thread/207/combine), after that i used OldNewExplorer and broke my system. I booted off of a Linux Live CD and replaced explorer.exe and explorerframe.dll with their backups, after that my system was restored but the navbar came back. I tried restarting the script, rebooting, running it multiple times but nothing helped. Can someone help? imgur.com/a/U3FjQvh
