I had applyed the Windows 08 icon pack by 2013windows8.1 and my file explorer or anything with explorer was screwed. I couldnt search file so I need help from here to do a system restore. Idk how to access system restore but can someone tell me the file name? im using windows 10 build 1909

You can do sfc /scanfile=C:\Windows\explorer.exe and if that doesn't fix the problem, then do sfc /scanfile=C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll. If neither of those work, try doing sfc /scannow.

i messed with oldnewexplorer and it seemed to get working and now its fucked then i go end the process and its working and then i close it and it fucks up again

I suggest you do a clean install Windows after backing up your files. And also, I don't recommend to use Icon Pack or such like that. Because it may have version compatibility problem or be malware. You should replace icons manually using CustomizerGod. You may feel lazy to do it but it is safer.

Or even better, try such experiments like this in a VM (VMware, VirtualBox, or Hyper-V whatever VM software). That's what I do when I play around with system files: using a VM for this. It's a solution too and can confirm.

Get a clean copy of these files you modified and put them there you might have to use the takeown reg file that gives you take ownership of files when you rightclick them so just deploy an image of the same windows and copy over the files you modded use takeown on them to make them renamable then copy original version , if you used reshacker you might find explorer.exe.original then you replace them with the original files
