Hello, today I want to share a method to get the classic Event Viewer from XP in newer versions of Windows! To get this, you need to first open a command prompt window as administrator Then, run the following command: regsvr32 els.dll If everything went right you should see a dialog saying this: After which, you can open the Microsoft Management Console (mmc) and go to File > Add/Remove Snap-in. In there, you should see a new entry called Classic Event Viewer. Here is how it looks: Here is the Windows XP version to compare: Note: this was tested on Windows 8.1, not sure if will work in Windows 10.
