This is because the files linked contain mui files for en-US. You'll have to find your language's equivalent of those MUI files, and use those instead, of course copying to the right language directory rather than en-US. Files from which version of Windows should be used ?

Have you looked into it yet? It's been 6 days. I really need to get this fixed... Not yet. This is tedious, because I have to install Windows in a VM to retrieve the files in my language... Because my system is not EN-US. But I will try. Why not just open the WIM with a program like 7Z or WinRAR? Worked for me,no corruption whatsoever.

Screw the previous guide, here's a proper and easy guide on how to get Game Explorer back. 1. Download all of these files 2. Put gameux.dll and gameuxlegacygdfs.dll into System32 3. Put gameux.dll.mui into System32\en-us 4. Put gameuxmig.dll into System32\Migration 5. Put files from 32bit.7z into Syswow64
6. Import all the .reg files using TrustedInstaller CMD 7. You can only open it with: shell:::{ED228FDF-9EA8-4870-83b1-96b02CFE0D52} 8. Adding stuff works properly: The icon being gone is an issue on 1809 and up. It used to be in imageres.dll
I did this but instead of giving me an error when typing the string in the run box closes and nothing happens

After doing the modification correctly you can just use Winaero Tweaker to add it to explorer sidebar. This way you wont need to run the shell command all the time. Attachments:

I think it's better to add it to StartIsBack++ or Open-Shell, but I have tested only with StartIsBack++ Simply paste the shell::: command into the address bar and click Select Folder

I did this but instead of giving me an error when typing the string in the run box closes and nothing happens I have a feeling I did it wrong due to running every reg file idividually using a elevated regedit with PowerRun, as I do not know of such thing to make CMD run as TrustedInstaller.

Doesn't work at all on my end, I'm on 1809 and did everything right, unless WinAeroTweaker's TrustedInstaller run trick is faulty, but I checked my Registry and it doesn't seem like something went wrong when importing the files And so when I try to open "shell:::{ED228FDF-9EA8-4870-83b1-96b02CFE0D52}", it still throws the error that says there isn't an app associated to open the link EDIT: Don't ever replace the Registry Editor's icons using 7TSP, it will confound the 32bit and the 64bit versions of it and will cause it to not work properly when changing some values, which was my issue there. Open cmd and type "sfc /scanfile=C:\Windows\sysWOW64\regedit.exe" and "sfc /scanfile=C:\Windows\regedit.exe" to fix the Registry Editor.

Then, you need to merge it in your Windows 10 1803 (or above) OS. Note, that when importing, it is normal for you to get errors for some of the files, it is safe to ignore. After that, you can open Game Explorer with shell:::{ed228fdf-9ea8-4870-83b1-96b02cfe0d52} (shell:games may work, but if it doesn't use the command mentioned before) I did all the steps correctly but it didn't work. I don't know what the problem with my computer is. The only error I did was do the regsvr32 after merging the registry items and changing the dlls, but I did a restore point and did the process correctly. It still does not work. I am running Windows 10 21H1 x64. EDIT: It turns out that some of the registry entries (including the most important one, {ED228FDF-9EA8-4870-83b1-96b02CFE0D52}, which contains the bulk of the data), said they merged fine but they are nowhere to be found! I'm currently manually adding them back in. I really hope this works! Well, I had some problems with adding a shortcut to the Games Explorer folder. I've installed it correctly, but the ability to drag and drop shortcuts is not working perfectly. I need help with that.

I tried to follow the tutorial but it looks like I'm getting nothing (yes that's my old account) Make sure that you imported every reg and replaced every file. In the attachment I included every reg file you need combined into one. Import that as TrustedInstaller, copy the files over and try again. Attachments:gameux.reg (9.65 KB)

Doesn't work for me on 22h2, too. Registry and 1709's dlls are fine, dunno why it shows the error

To everyone who can't drag and drop: It seems like it won't work correctly if you have UAC on, you should temporarily disable it via Winaero Tweaker (completely) and then drag your games in, then re-enable it. Discovered by Brawllux
