Well, yes there are. I mean it's not like you would just install something, turn it on and everything works as expected.
But on the whole it is possible to make Windows 10 look like a (botched up) version of Windows 7 with classic theme. Botched up just because there are things missing (like control panel applets) that existed in Windows 7.
But if everything is set correctly and if you choose the right settings, the right tools and/or the right mods, it is useable as your main OS with classic theme, yes.

I can't try it right now but I think something like that is possible with the "ease of access" themes.

Noob, here, I see lots of cool things in this forum and want to learn how to do these. Is there a thread somewhere that explains how to get started or at least something explaining DWM? Or maybe an FAQ, sorry if this isn't the right place to ask

how do i install this? do i need a programme first? Select Theme10x64.exe. Open it once, then import the theme registry keys. You will be able to see the themes when you reopen Theme10x64.exe.
Otherwise, there are also versions for the old deskn.cpl, but this poses some compatibility problems with recent versions of Windows.

Noob, here, I see lots of cool things in this forum and want to learn how to do these. Is there a thread somewhere that explains how to get started or at least something explaining DWM? Or maybe an FAQ, sorry if this isn't the right place to ask Indeed, I started writing a FAQ of my own (for the moment only on the classic theme, but in the future on other customization subjects). To put it simply (which is complicated, because the subject is not simple) on operation, DWM is the current window manager of the Windows system; it is he who manages the display of the windows. Historically, it was not him, but, DWM appeared in Windows Vista (in Vista and 7, it was activated with the Aero glass theme, where the Basic and Classic themes were managed by the old one) then supplanted the old window manager starting with Windows 8 It was still possible to unofficially get the old window manager in 8, but in 10 and 11 this makes the system unusable for production). Fortunately, it is possible to get basic and classic themes with DWM. The classic theme is what is displayed when the visual style is disabled, and the basic theme is what is displayed when DWM does not draw its window frames. In addition, there are several methods to modify the DWM window frame, for example to have transparency as in Windows 7, or to have a centered window title as in Windows 8...
That's it for the technical part, afterwards, it all depends on what you want to customize... This forum contains several sections: if you want to customize a particular program, you have to go to "Software general". If you want to customize an element of the file explorer or the taskbar, you must go to "Windows Shell". If you want to activate the classic theme, you have to go to “Classic Theme General”. If you want to customize another theme, you have to go to "Visual Style". If you want to explore Windhawk mods (perhaps on any customization topic), you can go to "Windhawk Mods".

Noob, here, I see lots of cool things in this forum and want to learn how to do these. Is there a thread somewhere that explains how to get started or at least something explaining DWM? Or maybe an FAQ, sorry if this isn't the right place to ask DWM (Desktop Window Manager) is responsible for outputting the desktop onto the screen since Windows Vista (with Aero enabled). It is used exclusively since Windows 8.
It's implemented in Direct3D, unlike the underlying window manager, and its main goal is actually just to composite complete window framebuffers onto the screen (rather than simply drawing back to front). This allows them to have thumbnail previews of windows, as well as fixes the smearing effect unresponsive applications would have with the old system.
DWM is responsible for drawing the window frames for most windows as well, which previously were part of the windows themselves in the old system; this is a major reason why patching DWM is required to change things about the window frames.
Note that the old system isn't exactly gone at all. It's still used for displaying child windows, even when DWM is active. You can see this most easily in MDI applications like WinRAR. DWM only composites top-level windows.

I think this is WOW64 redirection. Because Resource Hacker is a 32-bit application, you cannot directly access files in System32 (they will be redirected to SysWOW64). You can copy the file to a different directory to open it in Resource Hacker, or use this Windhawk mod: windhawk.net/mods/lm-ppee-wow64.
