Another question I have is, how do you get the Favorites and Help text in the menu bar of Explorer? I recall seeing some scattered info on the Favorites, but never Help.
However, if you want to edit the file manually instead of importing, don't use Resource Hacker. Use RisohEditor instead. Resource Hacker breaks the menu for some reason.

For some reason the en-us folder is impenetrable, I can't take full ownership of it. I used Winaero context menu to take control of the folder, and I gave full control to my user, Administrators, and TrustedInstaller and it still fails. I've taken full control over other system folders without issue, but this one will not work, even though the settings seem correct. Obviously I own the files themselves too.
Edit: Fixed, I didn't even change anything, just came back to it later and it started working.

Does someone knows to to make the "Take Ownership" option work (on Windows 7) correctly? No matter what i do, i always get denied access when i try to modify a folder that i took ownership of (such as Program Files for example), and my main worry is that my user is an admin user... What should i do?

Sorry to be a pest and I'm sure the fault is my own at one stage or another but after successfully getting the entirety of the classic theme to work correctly (save for the patched openshell DLL for fixing the taskbar, none of the links worked for me) I decided to restart my PC to see if any changes that had not yet occurred would take effect. And they did, my entire desktop is a black screen save for my cursor. Windows launches fine and Ctrl alt del works even when logged in. I'm assuming this is to do with the userinit string value messing up somehow. Is there any way to revert my registry changes so that I can use my desktop again? If not, is there any way for me to roll back to a previous windows/registry without me having to do a fresh windows install and format my drive? Thanks all. Was going so well until I restarted.

If Ctrl+Alt+Del works, you can launch Task Manager, and from there Explorer or Registry Editor to inspect the issue

How to remove blank background from the screensavers that use your desktop in windows 10 (note: i don't want to use a task scheduler to fix it because this method has many flaws)

I guess you haven't installed Classic Task Manager, and the window borders of it are in the classic theme, right? If so, you could try booting into Safe Mode with Command Prompt to inspect the issue, as CMD should still work

I'll try and see if I can get CMD open when I get home from work. Otherwise, I have a spare SSD so I may just install windows on that and use it to collect all my data, then do a format and fresh install on my original drive.

Windows+R does not work, nor does the windows button. I guess my only option is to try and use win+x and try to use arrow keys to open up CMD right?

I meant that when you go to boot the PC in Safe Mode, there will be an option to boot with command prompt for example, so you should choose that

Is there a way to make Windows 7 look more similar like Windows XP? Outside of the themes, retrobar and open shell i could not find anything more than that

You could also replace the icons and the toolbar buttons.

I've got a question. I've recently updated my copy of Windows 11 from 21h2 to 23h2, due to the fact that something got messed up in the original files, leading to constant blue screens. I've noticed an odd trend happening now. I switch the color of the classic theme over to the Windows Standard color, but every time I turned my computer back on, it reverts the color back to the default Windows 11 classic theme colors. Did something happen to the classic theme coloring system between builds 21h2 and 23h2?
