Apparently it was DDos attacked by some hacktivists who thought it was owned by the American Government. Here is the archives twitter account: The account

Hi! Does anyone know how to prevent StartIsBack from trying its best to draw the taskbar above literally everything? It wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the Start button which gets behind the taskbar, too, for 1 frame, making it blink (clicking it to bring up the start menu, clicking between the desktop and the taskbar empty space, pressing the keyboard Start button). Today I've even managed to somehow bring it behind the taskbar for a longer time when I opened SiB settings and simply pressed "Cancel", but I wasn't able to reproduce that. Judging by how annoying this is, it wasn't a thing until the recent Windows update somehow corrupted my installation to the point I had to reinstall SiB, after which it worked fine except for this issue. The most reliable way to cause this (if this happens at all) is to unpin the taskbar and start clicking the empty space on it.
UPD 23.10.24 Solution found: Kill KB5044273. No idea what they broke but it was the culprit. Hopefully this helps someone. If anyone has means of reporting bugs to StartIsBack MSFN forum topic, please report this one. My account still was not approved there.

After October 2025 updates, will it be possible to manually download the debug symbols used by Windhawk mods for use on 100% offline machines? Ignoring LTSC for the sake of argument, Windows 10 may make a good OS for old games in the future when older XP/7 era hardware is difficult to find, but it would be nice to continue using classic theme on this OS. Without the symbols, a lot of useful Windhawk mods will not work, most importantly fixing the right click context menus. This is definitely worth research if the symbols cannot be installed locally. Just something that I've thought about recently.

how can i pin shell:dekstop to quick access instead of the desktop that goes to This PC\Desktop? (normal pinning doesn't work) Go to this thread. Copy the contents of the main thread and open it in a text editor. Replace every instance of "shell:::{59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee}\\{B4BFCC3A-DB2C-424C-B029-7FE99A87C641}" with "shell:Desktop",then save it as a ".reg" file. Then import the reg file and restart explorer.

I'm using Windows 10 1809 and is there any way to get Windows 7/Vista icons on there easily? 2013windows8.1 one doesn't work. Also, any working way to hide the volume OSD completely? Seems really unnecessary.

For the second one, try this winclassic.net/thread/2297/disable-windows-8-osd
