I was curious. Where did you get the tiled background images from the older posts I have Windows ME, 2000, and 98SE, and I didn't find the Microsoft tiled image that resembles the 2000/ME era of logos?

Oh I got that from some Russian software CD that I had an old antivirus I was looking for on it. I've attached it to this post. I also uploaded a load of tiled wallpapers here awhile ago: archive.org/details/tiled-wallpapers-collectionAttachments:CHIPS WIN.bmp (66.26 KB)

Latest screenshot of my desktop (a few days old, but still relevant). Can you share your wallpaper?

Been a while: How did you get these lines? I mean the horizontal separator lines between the menu bar, the tool bar and the address bar?

I'm using this Windhawk mod. Go into it's settings, and enable this option:

Thx but unfortunately this mod doesn't do anything. Compiling worked and everything looks as if it should be working but none of the settings are applied...
Update: Ok, NOW it works. I had to disable "hide navigation bar" in Explorer patcher and instead enable it in Windhawk. Complicated...

My Classic/Open Shell start menu. Skin is a modified version of R.O.B.'s skin by TechSalt (or Travis? Please let me know who did this so I can give the proper credit pls). Start menu is made to resemble Classic Windows, and includes most programs from nearly every Windows program up to 7. Editing the start menu has taken the bulk of time with my setup. The Start menu is sorted in catagories and includes detailed sections. Each item contains their own custom tooltips. Control Panel section of the start menu has been remade, and I went one step further and added more; including past versions and links to each Control Panel item itself. Fonts folder opens up to reveal every Font file included in Win2k, complete with correct icons. Printers folder has the correct items from Win2K. So does the Network and Dial-Up Connections folder. And so does the Scheduled Tasks folder. Each item again has their own tooltips, directly pulled from Win2K. Search has been expanded with new items; top one leads to VoidTool's Everything, and the bottom leads to Nirsoft's RegScanner. Classic Shell's search box is here too. Favorites and Channels have been imported from Windows 98 and ME. They also include their own tooltips. Cleaned up the right click context menus. No icons on any of them. QuickView leads to... QuickView! OK, it's QV Plus, but it's pretty much the same. Unofficial ports of the older ones from Win98 didn't work for me on Win 10. Using OpenExpert in place of the (crappy) modern Open with dialog. This thing rocks, but only works in 32 bit file managers. I also restored classic items to the Sendto folder/option. If you don't mind I wanna replicate your classic start menu can you please upload open-shell settings and "programs" folder with just all the empty folder for the reference with control panel like this attachment, my start menu looks like a joke to yours and your classic setup is the ultimate setup I ever seen Open-Shell Start Menu.zip (140.71 KB)

It allows for greater flexibility, but it's time consuming but the results are well worth it imo. I've attached my settings file to this post. Attachments:Menu Settings.xml (452.21 KB)

Boot drive died a month ago, so I can't use this install atm. Currently "finishing" up a new setup based on LTSC 2021, but still want to revive this old one, at least sometime down the line.
