My Windows 10 install has come along way. Thanks to the community, it's evolved so much. See the thread here for comparisons: www.winclassic.net/thread/433/w10-setup-mkii-wipThis is used as my daily driver, and is being ran on real hardware. Not a virtual machine. I'm running LTSB 2016, built on build 1607, and this thing is fast and still pretty up to date. CREDITS:ROB: The site, icons, scripts, help threads. Anixx: Assorted scripts, help threads, help here and there. Splitwirez: Assorted scripts, help threads, and other stuff. ʇǝǝๅ ftw: For so many wonderful programs, most of which I still use today. Esp SCTTaskbar, which is fantastic. travis: For being a massive help around the forums, esp with resources and other stuff. Also, for correcting some issues with my classic volume skins. TechSalt: For coming up with so many dll hacks, and restoring the My Computer zone icon/text to the status bar. kakureta: Help here and there. Baloo: For convincing me to take the plunge into installing Classic theme in the first place. Spitfirex86: Their Reactos taskbar script, and other ahk scripts. 6sicsix: Their Win10 Automated Classic Theme bat script.

File Explorer. TreeView/Nav Bar from XP x64 ported over to W10, thanks to TechSalt + kakureta. I changed icons to most folders. Note: this is not my C: drive in this screenshot, you can't change the folder icons for the Program Files folders afaik. NT Task Manager from NT 4 (I think?) edited slightly to resemble 2K's (W2k's crashes if you try to load it in W10). W7 era Systems page, modified with Win2K logos, text and custom CPU name, which I have run at startup. Legacy Systems Properties complete with DELL info (all of it era correct). Also custom Winver. SimpleClassicThemeTaskbar, which is still my fave third party taskbar. Systray. Icons are as follows, from left to right: TechSalt's modified ReactOS Keyboard Switcher, Weather1, WeatherInfo, MoonPhase, Simplewall, WatchCat, NetAnimate w/kakureta's W2K skin, Volume 2 w/ my Nvidia Classic skin, 3RVX w/ my Classic Windows volume slider skin, XDesk95. I have more system tray programs running, but I hide them. I can still access them by using NexusDock, which has it's own system tray. SCTT has an issue with some programs and won't display their context menus, so having an alternative systray available is a godsend, esp as this one is hidden unless evoked. Desktop toolbars. Top one is bunded with PowerDesk, middle one is TurboLaunch which I use for loading my games, and the bottom toolbar is powered by PowerPro; this one has buttons for hiding the desktop icons, automatically changing the desktop icon's text colour, open/close disc tray, media controls for Winamp, mute system volume, load up PowerPro's Virtual Desktop applet, as well as more. Left is system info (it's powered by PowerPro), middle is NT Clock with client edge added, and the right toolbar is for programs I use from time to time (spell checker, clipboard history, Time/Date from W2K, Calender from TClock). Legacy balloons enabled. Desktop context menu modified to resemble Win2K's. Active Desktop items lead to Desktop Themes, Desktop Icon Settings and Show Web Content loads up Seamonkey (web browser). Display Properties with most patterns restored (but buggy asf) and loads of wallpapers. Desktop Themes is from Windows 98, and slightly modified to notify the system as Windows 2000. ʇǝǝๅ ftw's upgraded version of Veselcraft's logoff program, complete with fadeout effect. I modified the Alt+F4 dialog to resemble Win2k's. I went the extra mile to rename the items back to their original names. Complete with their original descriptions.

My Classic/Open Shell start menu. Skin is a modified version of R.O.B.'s skin by TechSalt (or Travis? Please let me know who did this so I can give the proper credit pls). Start menu is made to resemble Classic Windows, and includes most programs from nearly every Windows program up to 7. Editing the start menu has taken the bulk of time with my setup. The Start menu is sorted in catagories and includes detailed sections. Each item contains their own custom tooltips. Control Panel section of the start menu has been remade, and I went one step further and added more; including past versions and links to each Control Panel item itself. Fonts folder opens up to reveal every Font file included in Win2k, complete with correct icons. Printers folder has the correct items from Win2K. So does the Network and Dial-Up Connections folder. And so does the Scheduled Tasks folder. Each item again has their own tooltips, directly pulled from Win2K. Search has been expanded with new items; top one leads to VoidTool's Everything, and the bottom leads to Nirsoft's RegScanner. Classic Shell's search box is here too. Favorites and Channels have been imported from Windows 98 and ME. They also include their own tooltips. Cleaned up the right click context menus. No icons on any of them. QuickView leads to... QuickView! OK, it's QV Plus, but it's pretty much the same. Unofficial ports of the older ones from Win98 didn't work for me on Win 10. Using OpenExpert in place of the (crappy) modern Open with dialog. This thing rocks, but only works in 32 bit file managers. I also restored classic items to the Sendto folder/option.

Your setup is the reason why I started to do classic theme. Thanks for crediting me though, appreciate that. The skin for Classic-Shell was modified by TechSalt, I've done nothing but share the file to it.

Question: What are the differences between legacy and normal balloons? Unless you are just referring to disabling balloon to toast conversion About the skin: I modified the ClassicC skin (I don't know who made this, got it from Endermanch's video) to have correct spacing/padding etc. using Resource Hacker. I still need to work on arrows of submenus tho

How did you get different branding in winver and shutdown dialog aren't they linked? As Kakureta mentioned, I "created" (I modified someone's program) to make my own. @travis: Ok, thank you. I'll edit that part of the post. @techsalt: Yep, I just meant I turned off toasts and enabled the balloon tips. Sorry for the confusion. Looking forward to a future release of that skin, you've done a great job with it thus far.

Some things if I could tell if you want those tree view lines from 2000 in folders pane use the reactors method tho I swear XP folder pane did that once too and also how did you add a program to log off without causing open she'll to turn the log off text into logoff %4 and can nt4 task manager launch 64 bit programs?

Don't really use the tree view that much. Never experienced that tbh. All my Start menu items are manually added, including the Log off item. I just tried launching Media Player Classic BE x64 and it worked fine.

Also, I noticed your history icon on your explorer doesn't look very good. Here's a better history icon for it, only 16px though.
Also I noticed there's two separators on the start button.

Thanks Travis, that History icon is much better. I can't remember how I made the old one tbh. Sorted the Start button out as well, I didn't notice the second seperator. Thank you for pointing that out.

How to make icons move to the right on the desktop? I apologize, but I don't follow you. Could you explain in more detail? Do you mean the toolbars on the right side of the desktop? They are made with PowerPro.

How did you edit the shutdown dialog? And how did you use a different banner from the one in winver?
