I have already fixed it with a Windows installation pendrive I had laying around. Thanks for the help, anyways! Wait- or did you mean booting it into safe mode while the patch is applied if it worked? Let me check! I just suggested this because starting the system in safe mode already helped me fix a mess with DWM. As for the patch, it's strange that it doesn't work anymore... I'll investigate this. Apparently, Microsoft broke it with an update. How did you do it so I can patch it myself? (I found the modified parts with IDA Freeware but I can't modify them.)

Your script worked fine on my LSTC 2021 iot ! it is very practical, thank you for that! What would be great is two more versions of the DLL : one with classic proportions so that my modified classic aero theme would be almost perfect (the buttons is now the main problem) ! and of course an XP version, but I don't know if that's possible !? Maybe I could try to do it myself if someone would tell me how to do it ! (but it seems to be out of my league!!) Thanks you ! Indeed, LTSC 2021 is based on the latest version of Windows 10, so uDWM.dll is similar. Concerning the proportions of the buttons, I'm pretty sure that Dulappy has already modified uDWM.dll to obtain square buttons close to the classic or basic/XP theme. However, I can't find a corresponding file, neither here nor on ClassicServ. In any case, it is theoretically possible. Afterwards, you may be able to use the real classic theme as a replacement solution, or the basic theme. Dulappy has not made a uDWM patch that gets square buttons close for a classic or bssic/xp theme Although one would really be awesome I don't think anyone will make one

Sorry but I'm not the creator of the patch... And I don't have the paid version of IDA. But it is clear that we will have to update the patch.

I Found something interesting projects. github.com/Maplespe/DWMBlurGlassit called "DWMBlurGlass", there's have aero glass and windows 7 style dwm button. Unfortunately, it only supports windows 10 2004 and later. and it supports windows 11 too. (I don't know current I am still using windows 7.)

I should also probably post this here, fixed 8.1 lone close button: (real windows 7 on the left, windows 8.1 on the right)
fixed pretty much in the same way as windows 10's uDWM: (in function UpdateNCAreaButton, i simply nop out the crossed out conditional jump in the picture above (jz ...). theres probably better ways of doing this but it works i guess...)
Is there a version with centered tite bar text?

You know I'm taking about the W8.1 patch right? This uDWM I mentioined makes title bars on 8.1 not centered, so I want a version that only fixes buttons, not changes text position (so its centered as it should be).

To my knowledge, there is no version of this patch that also centers the title bar text. But using this Windhawk mod (from a valinet program) does not seem to pose any problems to me.
