I spent alot of time modifying this theme and found many discoveries and things you can do with msstyles, many of the discoveries I've posted on this fourm. But now I've decided to release it for archival purposes & not to gatekeep. Download is attached to the post.
Do note that this theme was made to be used with ClearType off, you will notice some things like Toolbar labels having no anti-aliasing. (To disable ClearType, run cttune, click on the "Turn On ClearType" checkmark and spam Next until it finishes.)
Changes & Additions:
- StartIsBack++ theme (Top & Bottom only)
- Changed Group Box color & border color
- Changed Edit boxes & Dropdown boxes Border Color
- Fixed stretched Error & Paused progress bars
- Horizontal scrollbar background no longer looks like Luna
- Spinner buttons no longer looks like Luna
- Dropdown button is now larger by 1px
- Tab "Pane" made to look like Royale Noir
- Borders on toolbars now have accurate colors
- Group items now look almost 100% accurate to XP
- Context Menus are more compact and made to look like XP's
- Changed color of "secondary pane" (i.e. Renaming a file to the same name as another one dialog)
- Toolbar labels (i.e. "Address") now uses Tahoma.
- Smaller toolbar button dropdown icon
- Changed toolbar separator color
- Changed Status Bar separator color
- Trackbar is now themed to look like Royale Noir

I decided to make Luna more accurate, since the original Luna10 is quite inaccurate.
Download is attached to this post. There are two msstyles, luna10.msstyles (For users with ClearType/Anti-aliasing off), and luna10_cleartype.msstyles (For users with ClearType/Anti-aliasing on).

I'm moreso curious to how you got the UI to look almost exactly like XP's right down to the drop-down menus. Is there a guide for that?

travis I have a problem with Noir10, when I apply the theme in msstyleEditor, it switches to the classic theme, the screen freezes, then I have to force logout.

Some elements like the taskbar ignores whether or not the user has anti-aliased fonts disabled. Though it is possible to force it with the msstyles. Of course, forcing it means that it won't have anti-aliased text if the user does have it enabled. |

i've discovered something while poking through winaero tweaker, may come in handy if you're developing perfectluna10 further.
one option that will make the install more accurate is the option to disable taskbar thumbnails due to the fact that xp didn't have said thumbnails and this will simply add an extra layer of accuracy to the creation.
i don't know if you've already discovered another method of doing this, but for everyone else this is an easy method of doing so.

New update for Noir10, general improvements to the theme making it more accurate. For example, the Search Bar on the NavBar uses the correct border icon, Edit boxes doesn't use a blue border when active, and the horizontal Spin buttons & Disabled button no longer has a white border. And, toolbar buttons are now accurate to Royale. Also features fixes like the Tab pane gradient not stretching properly.
Edit please wait while I upload the file, there is still some fixes needed. Programs like Notepad doesn't have a border anymore.
Edit: Theme is fixed.

Applied the theme and it looks great, but the only issue I'm having with BasicThemer2 applied is the titlebar caption text goes black like this: Anyway to fix this?, many thanks

Enabling Accent colors on the Titlebar via Settings should work. If not, set the accent color to either a dark color or the default Blue. |

I updated PerfectLuna10, did minor things generally improving the theme and making it alot more accurate. Most notable is a more accurate context menu in padding and etc, a fake throbber on the explorer toolbars, made the status bar gripper transparent. I also made the color scheme alot more accurate. |
