I was wondering what web browsers the users here prefer, so I thought I'd make a thread about it, just for the heck of it. As it stands right now, Google Chrome is currently the most used web browser on both desktops and mobile devices. So I'm curious to know what everyone's preference here is. Personally, I currently use Pale Moon. In case you don't know what that is, it's a fork of Firefox that uses the classic (pre-australis/v29) UI. But the very first 'browser' I used, back in the days of dial-up, was AOL. When I got LAN I was an Internet Explorer user (for longer than I should have been). There was also a short period where I used Safari when I was on Mac (yes, there was a very short time when I actually liked Mac over Windows). I switched to Firefox when I began getting more interested in computers, and I used that for a good many years up until 2014 when v29 was released with the new australis UI. Personally, I was devastated by this change, not only because I preferred the old UI, but also because all of the work I had put into making custom themes was now for nothing (Classic Theme Restorer didn't exactly resolve this issue either). So, I began searching for an alternative. I found Pale Moon, and that's what I've been using ever since. So what browser do you currently use, and which ones have you used?

I also use Pale Moon as my main browser today. Before the Australis change, I was on Firefox ESR all the way back to at least v2 days. Before that, I was on either Netscape or the Mozilla Application Suite; I don't remember it that well because it wasn't my computer and I was fairly ignorant about these things back then. I keep Chromium around for web dev just to check against and I have SeaMonkey as a backup browser. Lynx is my console browser.

Interesting one: Kinda looks like Firefox 2 to me. That is interesting. Is that what you normally use?

For Client Edge in K-meleon, add
user_pref("kmeleon.display.clientEdge", true);
to the prefs.js. This feature was implemented at my request! Works in current RC.

I sometimes use QtWeb, it even comes with a classic theme. Just check in the appearances tab in options.

So thanks to this thread I was able to learn what Pale Moon was. I quickly installed it, and after a couple of minutes I was able to create this. This makes me incredible happy. Attachments:

How do you combat caption bar transparency in palemoon? I don't know how (he/she/it/they) (do/does) it, but I do know that I use my recently-released DwmUnExtendFrame tool.

...can I get a screenshot of that? You can see it on the above screenshot. There is a 1-px black frame.

Looking at it now, I do see that. I was previously looking outside the Window borders, lool It appears in many but not all themes. So it possibly can be fixed in a theme (as well as transparency)

Looking at it now, I do see that. I was previously looking outside the Window borders, lool It appears in many but not all themes. So it possibly can be fixed in a theme (as well as transparency) That's the first time I've seen a black line like that in Pale Moon. That is very odd. It MIGHT be able to be fixed with a theme, unless that's part of the window frame. I'm not sure to be quite honest. As for the transparency, yeah, I think that's fixable with a theme. The themes I've created actually have a separate CSS file for Aero styling. This way, it's super easy to remove if I or anyone else ever wants to do so.
