Microsoft also removed the option "open folders in separate windows" from Explorer, finally killing the spatial file management paradigm. Fortunately, the option still can be set via registry: www.elevenforum.com/t/open-folder-in-new-or-same-window-in-windows-11.6629/#SixIt seems, nowaday they think their main job is removing options (and even that they do not do thoroughly as this can be restored via registry: People on Win10! No, it also happens without classic theme enabled and with the default EP settings.

P.S. Since this issue affects all EP users, this likely will be fixed soon.

When I right click on a folder I have the option to open this folder in a separate window (and it works).
But as i said earlier, I'm on 22631.2861, I don't know about later versions.
Why would they remove that?
P.S: I've just found this thread. In this case it seemed to be a bug with the arabic language package, so I guess it might be a bug in anixx' case as well.
Maybe it's a bug that only affects certain languages.

Even if it did, it doesn't seem to be a fully working taskbar. I don't think I want to try that.
The only way to get a fully working Windows 10 taskbar is EP, I'm afraid.

In Win11 21H2 (build 22000) it was fully working. No need for EP.

BTW: If someone's looking for even more incompatibilities, I have something more. Pressing the Windows-key on your keyboard will no longer open the classic menu (even if it's set correctly). That's another bug of Windows 11 and Open shell. I really wish someone could compile a new version of open shell (the Windows-key problem is fixed in newer versions) that includes: --> the fixes for Windows 11 --> the option to use colored buttons in Explorer tool bars when you hover over it: winclassic.net/thread/2100/colored-hover-icons-explorer-toolbar?page=1&scrollTo=17054--> of course the task bar fixes I would do it but I can't compile anything and I'm not a programmer.

Thanks. Do you have this option in folder options? Yes (not English though).

Here is the reg file that restores the hidden folder options, like "Always show menu" and others.
I wonder what the option "Use fitting dates" mean?

Do you mean this one: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\FriendlyLegacyDates] "CheckedValue"=dword:00000001 "DefaultValue"=dword:00000001 "HKeyRoot"=dword:80000001 "RegPath"="Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Advanced" "Text"=" shell32 .dll,-51744" "Type"="checkbox" "UncheckedValue"=dword:00000000 "ValueName"="FriendlyDates" I don't know what it does but in German it translates to "use user-friendly dates" It has something to do with the way dates are displayed, I guess. But I can't see any difference.
P.S. I don't think that this setting is even working because no matter if I check or uncheck it, it will always be displayed as checked in the registry, which shouldn't be the case if it was working.

In 23H2 the Win11 taskbar looks normal under classic theme, One only has to remove Thickframe style, and then add and removvw WS_CAPTION. OpenShell is bugged and shows the classic start button at position x=-1. If this was fixed, it would look better.
Here is the taskbar under Classic Theme without influece of EP or OpenShell:

With EP disabled, the windows still sppear black. You're right. That's an interesting find. Even though, as far as I remember the problem was fixed when I uninstalled EP. Now it persists. That's strange.
However, it also occurs with classic theme disabled.
So it has to be something else, maybe it's related to the color settings?
I don't know.

I wonder, why to introduce tabs, they had to break everything else?
Tabs in folder windows were first introduced in Win95Beta, and that time it was realized with standard controls.

anixx Afterwards, there is a Windhawk mod to completely disable tabs, but in your case it blocks the explorer. I think we should test everything, settings by settings, to try to see clearly any possible conflicts between the settings on 23H2.
