anixx Afterwards, there is a Windhawk mod to completely disable tabs, but in your case it blocks the explorer. Tabs are disabled already, there is no need to disable them more.

Ok, some updates on the black windows issue. It turns out that the culprits seem to be BOTH Explorer Patcher AND the classic theme. I've always thought that it's just EP, because even with the CT off, the problem would still persist, until I uninstalled EP, which seemed to solve the problem. But the bad news is that it's not only EP causing this (because there might be an update to fix it), it's also the classic theme (with no EP) that causes the problem. So you better get used to a little bit of blackness here and there...
Edit: Well ok, there is one more thing that could be involved. I've uninstalled everything that modifies the Windows GUI (to find the culprit) except for one thing: Open shell, because I didn't dare to uninstall it because I've sometimes had problems to get that damn toolbar back to work, so I didn't dare to turn that off. But I'm still afraid it has more to do with the CT and EP.

Just tried Win10 taskbar without EP.
Works.
The Classic Clock Experience mod does not work, all other flyouts are also immersive. Action Center cogwheel is not removable and non-functional.
Otherwise works just well.
Edit notification area icons with shell:::{05d7b0f4-2121-4eff-bf6b-ed3f69b894d9} command.

Well, if that problem with the black taskbar is really related to EP (and ONLY to EP) then there will probably a fix at some point, so you should be getting a fully working taskbar then.

You said something about some code that needs to be removed, even though it remained unclear where this code would be.
And since you wrote something about the taskbar without EP, If figured it could be EP that's causing the problem (which I don't have, so it's hard for me to tell).

I said the black taskbar was caused by mod Taskbar height and icon size. winclassic.net/post/17728/thread

The black windows seem to be a problem that only occur with the new Explorer windows with tabs. When you open the control panel (on your desktop!) the window shouldn't be black.
That's because the control panel still uses the older Explorer windows (without tabs) whereas all the other Explorer windows use the new windows with tabs.
I don't know but maybe someone could come up with a Windhawk mod that forces all Explorer windows to be opened like the control panel window or something?

Not sure how it will work on 11 though.

Ok, interesting. But unfortunately it doesn't seem to do what I would have wanted. The Explorer windows will still have tabs, therefore the mod obviously doesn't do what I envisioned.
But I guess, there should (or at least could) be a way to get this done.

I use Explorer Patcher, and besides this also the explorerframe.dll from build 22000.

Thanks. Do you have this option in folder options? Yes (not English though).
Oh, I forgot where it was located, I thought it was on the tab with all other settings. I did not touch it for years. The thing is, the tabbed view resets this setting to opening all in one window.

Thx for the links.
However it doesn't seem to work as i envisioned it. Even though it kinda makes sense. But unfortunately, it doesn't work.
Edit: Even though I have to say that the Explorer windows with tabs are usually more sluggish and take longer until the GUI is loaded, even without Explorer Patcher and CT. So maybe that's just the way it is.
