Looked into doing this stuff several times in the past but never ended up going through with it, finally did it and its been a work in progress (As anyone can tell) Alot of stuff doesn't look right- and windowblinds isnt without faults, doesn't seem to play nice with firefox themes but anyway Ill likely update as time goes on
If anyone has input on ways to do things better please let me know!
Now to the info on what I am using atm
Explorer++ (if anyone knows how to make the toolbars look more like XP's id be happy to know)
Iconpackager (I feel like buying this was stupid asf considering there are free things that do what it can do)
-Now for some stuff not seen in showcase pic or is kinda unimportant
Skeucord (Late 2000s early 2010s style betterdiscord theme) A whole bunch of assorted older looking/older ver icons

Honestly it oughta be frowned upon with how much it costs...
To be honest I thought though that theming via non paid methods fell away due to Microsoft updating and breaking stuff so often.. takes a very motivated person to keep up with stuff at that point, Though I will give that a shoot! anything I should know before going ahead with doing it that way though?

anything I should know before going ahead with doing it that way though? I believe this is all you need to get rid of WindowBlinds and still have an XP-esque setup, there shouldn't be any issues.
What do I know though, I haven't customized Windows in years lol

Use this theme, the best thing about it it's that it brings back the explorer task tray from xp!!

Visual styles support hasn't changed in Windows 10 in a loooong time (and won't anymore since 2004 branch seems to be Windows 10's last), and the base visual styles engine is very similar to what XP had. They only really changed the visual styles format.
Using it is still the very much recommended solution.
I recommend using SecureUxTheme to patch UxTheme in memory at startup, which can survive updates very well. BasicThemer5 will disable Vista's DWM window frames, leaving the visual styles engine to handle it (just like XP).

Apologies I never responded to either of you, I ended up kinda messing up my system when I tried and got scared of doing it again. Maybe I might try again but yea haha, my explorer got completely messed up and no matter what I did i couldn't fix it.

Of course, I won’t list everything that was recommended before me, but to make everything more concise, I would like to recommend the following Windhawk mods: 1) SysListView32 + Explorer 32px icons 2) Classic File Picker Dialog 3) Classic Menus at the moment this is all I use
