So annoying all I want is to have a good Windows 7 Theme and someone just has to ruin it. We definitely a replacement for the uDWM patch so the windows icon and title are placed properly with thick frames. Until proven otherwise, the only malicious program coming from Alcatel is the fake DWMBlurGlass. I think its too big of a credit of trust to give. I get your concern for community, but i think this kind of a transgression is big enough to be a way bigger danger to the community than any potential "toxicity".
Regarding the non-apology i am also personally just baffled how someone can claim the toxicity of others and yet be the one hacking other people and spamming slurs from their accounts.

The uDWM patched I got rid of thick framer. The uDWM patch does not come from Alcatel initially (it is just redistributed by). Afterwards, there is now a Windhawk mod that does the same thing, you can use it.
This is my first post on this forum and I wanted to thank you for this valuable information. This Windhawk mod was the only creation of Alcatel that I installed on my system. I am still going to scan everything using Eset and Farbar Recovery Scan Tool plus on a few Windows PE ISOs.

Your welcome. If the only Alcatel creation installed on your system is a Windhawk mod, you have nothing to worry about, continue to use your system normally.

Your first remark is technical. I plan to inspect all code in each project, to make sure there is no malicious code. But I'm pretty sure there isn't one, because all the projects are from before Alcatel's revenge. For the rest, everyone agrees that this behavior is reprehensible and destructive. Except what interests me is why we got to this point. Certainly, Alcatel seems psychologically fragile, but everyone initially comes here (on a discord server or on the forum) to discuss Windows customization, not to fight. Alcatel cannot have wanted revenge without anything having happened before. In the past, there have been several dramas on Discord, I felt a gradation; To be honest, I was already afraid that something like this would happen, unfortunately I was right. Furthermore, the forum had always been spared from drama ; apart from the Alcatel event, I feel an additional tension in the forum, on different subjects. I don't like this at all.

I find it a shame that our community is being abused in these ways, even to the point where members are now scared of downloading files because they could be malicious. The entire DWMBG Discord server was already suspicious of fake members while claiming to be official. I do not understand what Alcatel was trying to achieve here. It only disrupted the community and obliterated what was left of his image.
As I have said on Discord, I guess this is why people were afraid when I announced that I was pulling Simple Classic Theme from GitHub. At first, I did not understand it, especially since Simple Classic Theme 2.0 would be the community's most secure Classic Theme tool. But I see how having no insight into what an app does can scare away people. It makes me think about what power other bigger tools such as StartIsBack/StartAllBack might have over many more users than this community alone.
As to virus checks, I think this is not a foolproof way of validating a piece of software. With theming-related tools, most virus scanners will get angry because system files/processes are modified. You should always run stuff in an enclosed environment (eg. a VM or old, disconnected PC) first to ensure that whatever you are running is safe. This is the only way to properly assess what a closed-source tool does.
Probably my last input on the topic. I think we should not give it much more attention since there is not much more we can do. The malicious files have been removed from most communities/Discord servers by now, so there is no longer a big threat.

I wonder if it would be possible to remake the win7 skinpack they made and remove any malicious code like the bundled DWMBlur and could maybe replace it with a text document with a link to the official github page, idk if anything else in that pack is malicious other than the DWMblur.

I almost installed BasicThemer5, luckily Windows Defender caught it before I could. Thanks for the heads up.

It does not detect basicthemer6 by neptune. I think I'll recompile BasicThemer5, not to feel safe, but to end this stupid debate once and for all. Upon its release BasicThemer5 was detected by many antiviruses, at a time when Alcatel did not blame the community.

I said this because you said every basic themer gets detected. I also know that BT2-3-4-5 all get detected, but BT6 does not get detected. There is no "stupid debate" for you to end.

I was talking about the "Is BasicThemer5 Dangerous" debate. I wasn't talking about the debate over antivirus detections.

There are lots of people who does not check the codes of the programs/mods they install. If Alcatel ever tries to do something like this again it will be too late to warn them. There was an opportunity to lead people to known trusted alternatives but it looks like you are trying your best to prevent this. I am trying to minimize the risk for everyone here.

Alcatel sent token loggers to lots of people and committed numerous cyber crimes. Literally leaked people's personal information and sent racist messages from their accounts. The program he used is a custom build of DWMBLURGLASS. If the build of DWMBLURGLASS you are using is NOT from the official repository or it's version is 3.0 delete it IMMEDIATELY,change all of your account passwords and do a full scan on your computer. Do not use any themes,Windhawk mods, dll patches or basically anything by Alcatel if you value your accounts security and your personal information.
Mods and Admins this is a pretty serious situation so please pin this if possible.
Stay away from these programs/mods/places:
Jeez, he also stole glass8 and the glass8.eu website?!
