Alcatel sent token loggers to lots of people and committed numerous cyber crimes. Literally leaked people's personal information and sent racist messages from their accounts. The program he used is a custom build of DWMBLURGLASS. If the build of DWMBLURGLASS you are using is NOT from the official repository or it's version is 3.0 delete it IMMEDIATELY,change all of your account passwords and do a full scan on your computer. Do not use any themes,Windhawk mods,dll patches or basically anything by Alcatel if you value your accounts security and your personal information.
Mods and Admins this is a pretty serious situation so please pin this if possible.

There have already been stories at least as serious as this in open-source projects. Each time, a code audit was carried out to determine precisely whether the code was healthy or not.
I don't see why this would be any different.
Earlier, I panicked because I was afraid that useful information would be deleted, just because of where it came from. I'm not talking about the malicious version of DWMBlurGlass, but about the rest (the Windhawk mods, BasicThemer5...).

Anything that is made by this dangerous person must be obliterated IMMEDIATELY. There is no useful information in those programs/mods either,and there is no guarantee that those mods will be used for something like this in the future as well. |

I sometimes use BasicThemer5, as well as a script for switching the login screen to console mod. These files do not currently contain malicious code, they are on my computer, even if Alcatel wanted (which seems unlikely to me) to add malicious code, he would not be able to modify those on my computer. And you don't have to tell me what I should use or not. I have every right to find these two programs useful if I want to.
On the other hand, I apologize if I offended you earlier. Finally, you say that my behavior is damaging due to my rank on the forum; my rank did not fall from the sky, it is there because I help many beginner users (rather than just telling them that their configuration is not good). I am therefore relatively aware of what may or may not constitute a risk for the user, even if, I admit, I am not aware of everything that is happening on Discord at the minute (I have a life outside this community).

Alcatel is not the author of BasicThemer5, but you should probably compile the upstream project from source rather than using his version. You don't know for a fact if he slipped malicious code into the binary that he built, but the upstream project is definitely safe. |

ClassicThemeTray is also systematically deleted, and sometimes SimpleClassicTheme too. And I forget a lot. The problem has been known for a long time, as have the causes. |

Yeah, I've seen the malware they used, it's pretty nasty stuff. "Trust me, bro" doesn't really cut it. My advice to Alactel would be to stick to what you saying you're going to do and focus on sorting themselves out.
To anyone else who ran that file - change your passwords and contact your banks. Better to be safe than sorry. |

Giving my two cents on this matter. It's sad that Alactel ended up mentally broken by the WinClassic community, because that is definitely something someone should not feel like.
A lot of us are brought together by our enjoyment of the Windows designs Microsoft abandoned over the years to get to where we're currently at with default Windows 10/11.
At the same time, injecting code that can leak personal information and allow potentially Alactel to send nasty stuff to people as a form of revenge is a dangerous thing to do. And like you said OrthodoxWin32, this could affect the trust people have in other users. I hope Alactel is able to get help, and can recover, while also looking at this whole situation as what isn't a good way to get a one last, "forget you" on toxic people.

When i read this i got really worried because i added some WindHawk mods and downloaded the Windows7 theme on my brother's computer... Thankfully i did not added any mod of this user there and i am very sure that the Windows 7 theme was Aero10 by another user
