which version of windows did u use this is Windows 10 Version 22h2.2006! Give details about what you did,and how you tried to install the modified logon screen. Don't just say "everything on the guide", explain every step you took one by one. Other than that did you use a 7TSP pack? Did you take ownership of the DLLs that need to be modified? Everything.

Upon testing the latest build I seem to get stuck in a black screen, the cursor is stuck in a loading state i'm having the same problem as this person, i'm on version 22h2 and i confirmed that the regular console login works on my end but not consolelogonhook, had to use a restore point.
i followed the instructions that was shown on github twice (at this time), and the first time i did step 4 first (unknowingly) to confirm that the regular console logon works, and the second time i did step 4 last, and the results were the same.
i did install a 7tsp pack recently (which was by ihatemetro, i believe) and i double checked the registry with regedit to make sure that the changes are actually in effect (they were.)
in addition, after i installed consolelogonhook and pressed ctrl+alt+del it showed a black screen with the error message with the title "Failure to display security and shut down option" saying "The sign-in process couldn't display security and sign-in options when Ctrl+Alt+Delete was pressed. If Windows doesn't respond, press Esc, or use the power switch to restart."
fyi i've only tried 1.0.3, and i haven't tried the other versions to make sure that this wasn't exclusive to this version.
EDIT (25/06/2024): forgot to mention this but for trustedinstaller cmd i used winaero tweaker, and for au7hui.dll i used the renamed the windows 7 sp1 file, and also, i've disabled the lock screen & ctrl+alt+del on logon via winaero tweaker

Grab a copy of regedit.exe from a fresh windows 10 iso. 7TSP packs corrupt 64 bit version of the executable forcing Windows to fallback to the 32 bit one. And since the fallback one is 32 bit,any modifications done to 64bit registry does not apply. After you replace your regedit.exe with a fresh copy import the regkey as TI again.

And since the fallback one is 32 bit,any modifications done to 64bit registry does not apply. After you replace your regedit.exe with a fresh copy import the regkey as TI again. okay, so,
- i replaced regedit.exe with one from an official windows 10 iso
- i copied the 2 dll files
- took authui.dll from windows 7 sp1
- opened TI cmd via winaero tweaker and modified the registries
- double checked with regedit to see if it's modified (it did)
- renamed windows.ui.logon.dll to something else
- checked if ctrl+alt+del is working, same error
- restarted, black screen with cursor
- went to a system restore point
i.. literally don't get it, but i'm starting to suspect that either there's a bug that only occurs in specific hardware, or that it conflicts with the mods that i have installed, i'll try to investigate

It's still like that in mine i reverted to an earlier restore point using advanced startup options, then uninstalled secureuxtheme, then followed the instructions on github (after installing consolelogonhook you can do ctrl+alt+del to confirm that it's properly installed.) you can use ultrauxthemepatcher as an alternative for secureuxtheme

Just tested this and it seems like it was made for 21H2+ because I just get a bunch of errors popups on 1809 whenever LogonUI is supposed to appear :/ The GitHub doesn't mention a version requirement by the way, if 1809 is actually not supported right now, is support for older versions planned? This project got me hyped and I'd love to use it on 1809 and older versions

This project got me hyped and I'd love to use it on 1809 and older versions I've spoken with the creator about this previously - support for different versions is planned, the issue mainly relates to how the offset system currently works in the hooking mechanism. At the minimum it will eventually be able to run on 1903/09 as well as on Windows 11, though I can't imagine 1809 had that much of a difference in its authentication system to the former so it will probably work there too eventually. Once this is sorted out this will likely be the definitive solution for custom authentication UIs which is rather exciting.

Wow! This is really awesome! Never knew this was possible. But right now there is a problem, i was looking through VirusTotal website and found out that this .dll file (ConsoleLogonHook.dll) has been tracked by 6 antivirus programs. Something tells me that this .dll file shouldn't be malicious. I'm pretty sure it's just a false positive. This also made my screen go permanently black, and won't start the OS again, all i did was to rename Windows.UI.Logon back to its normal file extension again, which made my OS go back to its current state.

This is likely because you have done Hook LogonUI during the install of secureuxtheme, for some reason it had issues with it, i rewrote some of it and the issue went way, but it still causes issues with switch user where the names get garbled, which i need to fix

it doesn't work for me Do you have any information beyond just "it doesn't work"? Could you walk through the steps you have attempted so that we can tell where you may have made a mistake? I think it does not work because UltraUXThemePatcher does not hook LogonUI

Hi, I'm new here. I tried out version 1.0.4, I have logonui hooked on SecureUXTheme, it worked for me. Despite this, I'm kinda having a problem when I logon, on the logon screen, it only just shows the background, accessibility button, the shutdown button, and the branding, it doesn't show my profile picture, username, the password box, etc.

Neat mod, working great on my Win10 22H2. Any possibility of a Vista theme in addition to Win7? I did try using Vista's authui, completely borked my login. Had to use one of those sata2usb adapters to fix it, lol.
